|Masonry and stone carving are two trades inherently gifted with the “handing down” of knowledge, whether from father to son or master to apprentice, mentoring occurs on all levels in our daily work. StoneFest 2010 will notably celebrate father-son teams who are dedicated to this inherited knowledge of stone. We plan on building a challenging project – large stone beehive structure(s) in a traditional Irish style whilst incorporating contemporary design techniques, designed and built by father/son, mentor/apprentice teams together with participants of StoneFest 2010.
